During the Reporting Period, a total of 8 full-time positions were filled.  The information required by FCC Rule 73.2080(c)(6) is provided in the charts that follow.

 

 

 

INITIATIVES

 

The employment unit engaged in the following broad outreach initiatives in accordance with various elements of FCC Rule 73.2080(c)(2):

 

Participated in at least 4 job fairs by station personnel who have substantial responsibility in making hiring decisions.

01/11 Okaloosa Island Convention Center; Career Expo-hosted by NCOA. The Market Manager and the Operations Manager participated.

 

Established an internship program designed to assist members of the community to acquire skills needed for broadcast employment.

We have a summer intern program. Two interns participated during the reporting period. One intern is a student at Okaloosa/Walton College. The intern received course credit and worked part-time in the programming department. The

second intern was from Walton High School and worked part-time in the programming department.

 

We also participated in an intern initiative with Horizon, a local organization for people with disabilities (Horizon Mentoring Day Program Oct, 2010).

Established training programs designed to enable station personnel to acquire skills that could qualify them for higher level positions.

We provide RAB training for our Account Executives.  This training enables them to become certified at graduating levels as a marketing professional and prepares them for future promotions and employment opportunities.

 

We also have regular telephone training and coaching for our programming department employees provided by our paid programming consultants.  These occur about once per month.

 

Participated in job banks, internet programs, and other programs designed to promote outreach generally (i.e., that are not primarily directed to providing notification of specific job vacancies).

WWAV and WFFY actively reach out to the audience and the community through social media, such as Facebook. WMXZ actively reaches out to the audience and community through Twitter.

 

Participated in other activities designed by the station employment unit reasonably calculated to further the goal of disseminating information as to employment opportunities in broadcasting to job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities.

All four Qantum radio stations ran a series of employment ads on our airwaves regarding employment opportunities reaching potential job applicants.
